Based in the UK, shoots with an iPhone
Found this victim on this mornings walk, thought it deserved to be displayed prominently, so mounted it on a branch.
Just caught a StarLink train passing over the UK. Handheld, no filter! Amazing what an iPhone can ‘see’!
San Mao is a Chinese language comic (Manhua) character created by Zhang Leping in 1935. He is one of the world's longest running cartoon characters and remains a landmark as one of the most famous and beloved fictional characters in China today.
This shot taken at the Brussel’s Comic Strip Center (https://www.comicscenter.net/en/home) where I found a new appreciation and love for the art and history of the comic strip.

Original vane of the spire of the Town Hall, dismantled in 1993 and replaced in 1996 by a copy made by the Fonderie de Coubertin. It survived the bombing of the city in 1695 and five centuries of exposure to the weather.
Puddle reflecting the waning crescent moon & Venus shining brightly as the sun rose over the forest this morning
Lots of fungi springing up in the forest, especially after the recent rains. This morning, these clusters of “sulphur tuft” or “clustered woodlover” could be found. They thrive on rotting roots, stumps, or trunks. Bitter & poisonous!
I love a ‘big sky’!
Out forest walking early this morning, with my doggie pal. A beautiful, if chilly start to the day.

A week ago we were BBQing in the garden, today’s early forest dog walk was a chilly 1°C, with a light covering of ground frost!
As autumn approaches, my early morning forest walks can a bit cooler, dew forms, highlighting the intricate work of arachnids.
Scleroderma citrinum, commonly known as the common earthball, pigskin poison puffball, or common earth ball, is the most common species of earthball in the UK and occurs widely in woods, heathland and in short grass from autumn to winter…..but it’s only mid-August!
Panzerwrack in the Brander Wald!
Think this is a M47 Patton. These tank wrecks are so-called hard targets, which are still used today by the German Armed Forces, THW, DRK and fire brigade for training purposes. No red flags flying, so at your own risk, you can get up close to the two I found.
Early morning forest dog walk immediately following a torrential downpour. The fresh puddles are topped with psychedelic swirling patterns of washed down tree pollen.
Unlike deciduous trees that surround their seeds with fruit, pine trees produce seed-bearing cones in order to reproduce. Both male and female cones are on the same tree. Typically, the male cones that produce pollen are located on the lower branches of the tree. This is to prevent the pollen from falling on the female cones of the same tree and, thus, promotes fertilization with other pine trees, which enhances genetic variation among trees.
A drizzly and chilly forest dog walk first thing this morning. Signs point to some snow in the next 36 hours.
Today’s forest walk took me through an area that has suffered a lot of storm damage over recent years. Nature slowly, but inevitably, recycles.
Gorse flowers starting to burst out in higher numbers on this misty morning.
Started at 0°C, when I took this picture this morning, but heading up to 12° or 13°C, possibly the mildest day this year so far, driven by Southerly winds bringing Saharan dust across Europe which are set to bring stunning sunsets and sunrises to the UK over the next couple of days.
Moon setting, sun rising behind me. A low icy -5°C ground mist lingers over the dormant frozen heather
